Dutch potatoes

Dutch potatoes are a source of carbohydrates, potassium, and vitamin B6, as well as fibre, protein, folic acid, and vitamin C. Hofotra supplies table potatoes, as well as processing potatoes and potatoes suitable for export purposes.


Dutch potatoes are available all year round.


Hofotra supplies Dutch potatoes to customers, which then find their way to the consumer through the supermarket channel, markets, or industry. Depending on customer preference, potatoes are delivered according to customer specifications. Washed potatoes are also an option.

We supply the following potato varieties:

  • Waxy potatoes;
  • All-purpose potatoes;
  • Starchy potatoes;
  • Very starchy potatoes.


Potatoes are available in the assortment:

  • 45/+ mm;
  • 50/+ mm;
  • 60/+ mm;
  • 45/+ mm – 65/+ mm;
  • Other assortments upon request.

Packaging options

Dutch potatoes are available assorted, in the following packagings:

  • 5 kg foil, mesh bag;
  • 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg, 25 kg mesh bag;
  • 20 kg, 25 kg jute;
  • 20 kg EPS-H;
  • +/- 1100 kg jumbo bag.


Hofotra delivers potatoes grown in Dutch soil all year round. The first potatoes are planted in February. The planting schedule continues until April. Subsequently, the potato grows into a new potato plant. The growth process is observed closely and receives the care it deserves. This way, we guarantee a high-quality end product for the consumer.


Potatoes are harvested around mid-August. Immediately after harvesting, the potatoes are stored in a modern storage facility.


After arriving at the company, the potatoes are driven into storage. During the following weeks, the potatoes are cooled down to 4 degrees Celsius. Temperature and humidity are constantly monitored to retain optimal quality. Potatoes suitable for chips and crisps are stored at a higher temperature.


The potatoes are Global Gap certified.

Besides potatoes, our assortment contains a variety of other vegetables, like onions, carrots, white cabbage, red cabbage, savoy cabbage, green cabbage, white pointed cabbage, cauliflower, romanesco, celeriac, iceberg lettuce.
